Breast Cancer Support

We offer a specialised discreet fitting service for those that have or are about to have surgery whether that is a lumpectomy or mastectomy.  We appreciate that it can be a very daunting time and you can be overwhelmed with information you are given to help you.  We want to help with this, we recognise everyone's journey is unique and it's so important that you receive personalised advice focusing on you and your situation.

Following surgery, a good fitting bra is so important, it can make such a difference, it helps with your recovery, your comfort and your confidence.

There are generally two types of bras required:

Ladies generally need a post-surgery bra for immediately after surgery and once they are recovered from their surgery, they will need to have a good fitting bra which is suitable for the type of surgery they have had.

Most post-surgery bra’s are designed to be front fastening as movement may be limited initially, they are higher on the sides for fluid management and soft internally with little to no seams to not irritate during healing.  If the hospital requires you to have a post-surgery bra ready, they will inform you, in some cases they will provide a specialised compression bra (depending on the type of surgery).  If in doubt, please ask your medical provider they will be able to advise. 

Bras following a mastectomy are predominately non-wired, designed to be soft and gentle on the skin, extra supportive with higher sides to help with fluid management and they have pockets in the cup to hold a prothesis (if required).

Our Support Your Sister Fund (SYSF)

It's a pay it forward scheme we setup for newly diagnosed breast cancer customers. Its funds their first bra following a mastectomy.

Did you know, In the UK, people with breast cancer get financial support under the NHS with wigs, prosthesis (if needed) but not for Bras?

When you have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer, undergone surgery, maybe facing further treatment, financing replacement bras (especially right now), shouldn’t be something to worry about.  To help, in March 2023 we launched our pay-it-forward scheme ‘Pear-Laine's-Support-your-Sister’. 

We have only been able to do this through donations from you-our amazing customers, local businesses and the sales of our exclusive “boob” items.  We also donated our wedding gift money from our wonderful friends and family last year.

We want to continue our SYSF but we need your support, by:

• buying a pay-it-forward voucher, from as little as £1 either online or in-store
• purchase one of the boob related items (our boob items are a perfect little gift for someone)
